The Dispeller of Delusion (Sammohavinodani) published by the Pali Text Society is divided into Two parts. The first part is a translation of the Sammohavinodani, a commentary on the Vibhaṅga, the second book of the AbhidhammaPiṭaka. The work focuses on the early sections of the Vibhaṅga, providing detailed explanations of key Buddhist concepts such as the five aggregates (Khandhas), sense bases (Āyatanas), and elements (Dhātus), etc. The text is divided into seven chapters: 1) Classification of the Aggregates (Khandhavibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 2) Classification of the Bases (Āyatanavibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 3) Classification of the Elements (Dhātuvibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 4) Classification of the Truths (Saccavibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 5) Classification of the Faculties (Indriyavibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 6) Classification of the Structure of Conditions (Paccayākāravibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; 7) Classification of the Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipaṭṭhānavibhaṅga) with Suttanta Division and Abhidhamma Division; and Footnotes to Chapter at the end of the each chapter. The Sammohavinodani is a key resource for understanding the Abhidhamma’s analytical framework.
