This Dissertation is an attempt to solve the problem why beings in the world wander in Saṃsāra. In this dissertation, the Solution is given for the etymological study of Avijjā and Taṇhā and the meaning of Avijjā and Taṇhā based on the grammatical point of View. It is also described the nature of Avijjā and Taṇhā according to psychological and philosophical point of view. Then, it also mentions how the beings go on in Saṃsāra because of Avijjā and Taṇhā and how to eradicate Avijjā and Taṇhā through Sīla (Morality), Samādhi ( Concentration) and Paññā (wisdom) according to Theravāda Buddhism.
